USCC STA
United States Composting Council’s Seal of Testing Assurance Program
Our facility participates in the United States Composting Council’s (USCC) Seal of Testing Assurance (STA) Program. This information disclosure program requires extensive monthly testing of our compost by a specialized third-party lab to maintain our STA Certification. Composite samples are taken at different depths from our finished compost stockpile and air-mailed to California. Compost is analyzed for trace metals, pathogens, nutrient content, pH, organic matter, inert material, maturity, and more. The lab then conducts a plant growth test using our compost sample to assess germination and seedling vigor, which is then reported back to us. All test results become public information available to all customers upon request. Get in Touch for more information.

MnDOT Approved/Qualified Products
Our facility is also on the MnDOT Approved/Qualified Products list to supply MnDOT Grade 2 compost (see specifications below). Additionally, the State of Minnesota defines compost into two classes based on quality. Dakota Prairie Composting only offers Class I. By upholding these standards, we can supply the best commercial and residential products possible.
