Sign up for our Household Organics Recycling program and drop off household food waste for free! By collecting food scraps at home for composting, people can reduce greenhouse gases and help create nutrient-rich soil amendments. Together we can keep organics out of the trash—and put this waste to better use!

Participate in our FREE spring and fall yard waste drop-off programs. Residents of Shakopee, Prior Lake, Savage, Chaska, Louisville Township, and SMSC team members can bring brush, leaves, and other yard clippings for free throughout the months of May and October. Participants must show ID or SMSC team member badge.

Held annually for the two weeks following Halloween, our pumpkin drop-off program allows residents to recycle their pumpkins and gourds during regular business hours—free of charge. Items must be free of all non-compostable materials, including decorations and candles. The drop-off program diverts thousands of pounds of pumpkins from the landfill and contributes to the creation of our high-quality compost.
