Why It Matters
Recalled, expired, or misprinted foods often end up in landfills. With the Thor, we give them a second life. This ingenious system separates food from its packaging with 99% precision, processing over 100 tons per day, all without hydraulics or pneumatics.
How It Works
Commercial customers deliver packaged food waste to our facility. From there, the Thor’s 125-horsepower motor and 52 swing hammers (hence the name, Thor) do the heavy lifting by breaking open packaging. The pulverized food waste falls through screens and is conveyed into an organics bunker, preserving the organic material for composting. The packaging remains mostly intact during this process, too large to fit through the screens, and can be conveyed into a roll-off container for disposal. The result is a cleaner planet and healthier soil.
